OCCUPY LA, OCCUPY SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, FORECLOSED HOMEOWNERS, AND THE COMMUNITY BARRICADE THEMSELVES WITH THE HERNANDEZ FAMILY AND CALL A PRESS CONFERENCE TO VOICE THEIR DEMANDS

VAN NUYS - On August 24, 2012, members of Occupy LA mobilized at the home of the Hernandez family and barricaded themselves to form a resistance against the wrongful eviction. Their story has reached national attention because millions of families are facing similar situations.

According to Mortgage Bankers Association 1 out of 200 homes will be foreclosed in the nation and California is expecting 700,000 foreclosures before the year's end.

Early this year the California Attorney General Kamala Harris made a deal with the banks for $18 Billion over the mortgage fraud against Californians. While there has been no public accountability for settlement funds, homeowners like the Hernandez family continue to suffer the abuses of the banks without receiving any help from the Attorney General settlement.
