This Friday, please support homeowner and Marine Art de los Santos as he faces a contempt charge and possible arrest in Riverside County Court.
On Friday, March 2 Riverside County Superior Court Commissioner Thomas S. Hudspeth will force Art to explain why he shouldn’t be held in contempt and arrested for re-entering his vacant foreclosed Riverside home. Apparently prepared to ignore legal and procedural issues with the foreclosure and eviction, Hudspeth will also consider mortgage giant Freddie Mac’s request to force the Riverside County Sheriffs Department to evict Art, his wife and four kids from the property.
According to news coverage of a hearing held last week, Commissioner Hudspeth has summoned Art, Freddie Mac, and the Sheriffs Department to the hearing. In court, Art and legal counsel are prepared to raise legal issues with the foreclosure and eviction.
Commissioner Hudspeth will also decide on Freddie Mac’s request to force the Sheriffs to come and evict Art, his wife, and four kids. IF GRANTED, THE ORDER COULD TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY AND ART NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT AT COURT AND HIS HOME NOW.
You can support Art in his last stand in two ways:
1. Attend the court hearing: Friday, March 2; 1 p.m. Superior Court, 13800 Heacock St., Moreno Valley 92553
Supporters and media will attempt to record the proceedings and ask Freddie Mac’s attorneys why they would rather forcibly evict Art and his family than work with them.
(hearing in Department MVIUD; meeting 12:45 at court main entrance)
